Mice

A very old Rude Mechanicals song, almost as old as the band itself:

A plot
A dastardly plot emerges, or is it breakfast?

So this is it:
The trains
The seats
The windows
The stories on other peoples shoes
But not mine
Mine are in disguise
Can you hear the mice?
Can you hear the mice?

They’re all aliens
They’re aliens I’m sure (whispered)

Nervous stares all around
Nails chewed right down
The train is slow the journey long
Travelling along London underground

Today I consider escalators
Stair impersonators
Creatures of slow motion
With an automatic notion
To tame your feet!

They’re all aliens
They’re aliens I’m sure
They’re all aliens
They’re aliens I’m sure

You see the mice on the tracks
You see them as you wait for your train
You think their vermin but their not
Oh no their not.

They’re all aliens
They’re aliens I’m sure
They’re all aliens
They’re aliens I’m sure

Bred by the train companies

Bred til they’re big and fat

Squeezed all the fluids flooding out

Used to power the train

Cheaper than gasoline!
